Her colours are greatly influenced by her Brazilian upbringing, while her shapes are a vivid representation of her background in Anthropology, often including cultural elements. Her graduate studies in Fine Art at the Chelsea College of Art and Design intensified her love for textures while her professional past in sustainability and renewable energy has shaped her way of incorporating sustainability into her art.

Previously from launching Homewarie, Marie has participated in a number of international exhibitions with her paintings, collaborated with fashion brands, but mostly been passionate about bringing joy to her surroundings.
